Class Demonstrations

We were treated to many interesting demonstrations last week. The students did a great job teaching their classmates how to make and do many new things. The purpose of this assignment was to practice writing and sharing instructions on how to do or make something we could do well. We needed to clearly explain the steps in order so our classmates could follow the steps. We had fun sharing and learning so many new things!

Ceramic Glazing

The students did a wonderful job glazing their ceramic pieces last Wednesday. It was a challenging task to select colors and make sure that the pieces were completely covered with color. We are firing our pieces in the kiln today and are anxious to see what they will look like. Sorry, but you won't get to see the final products until they come home for Christmas. I'm sure that you will be pleasantly surprised!

Thank you to Mrs. Pastor, Mr. Pakjake, and Mrs. DeMello for helping us. We really appreciate your help!

Enjoy these pics of the children (taken by Mrs. Pastor) working hard on their glazing!

HSA Nov. 19, 20, 27, 28

Aloha Parents! B23 will begin our HSA testing next week. We will be taking the reading test on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19 and 20. The math test will be taken the following Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 27 and 28.

Please help your child prepare for the test by:
  • Getting a good night's rest.
  • Eating a good breakfast.
  • Coming to school on time (7:55 am). Students who arrive late will not be able to take the test for that day and will need to do a make up test later.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Ceramic Creations

Our big art project this quarter is ceramic making. The students made beautiful ceramic pinch pots. Starting with a ball of clay, the students pinched the clay in a circular direction to form their creative pots! You'll be pleasantly surprised when you see the finished products!

Fun With Fables

We were treated to a great performance from Ohia Productions on Monday! Four popular Aesop's Fables were enacted. We enjoyed the entertaining stories and the special lessons that they taught us.

After reading and learning about fables, we are now creating our own original fables. We'll be making little books with our fables. We're anxious to finish them and share them with you!

Enjoy the pics and video clip from the play.
